Solar Panel Mounts

Turtle Island Wind and Solar offers several different methods to mounting solar panels. Most residential systems will be installed on a ground based mount, or on the roof by securing the mounting assembly to the structural members of the roof. Commercial systems can be installed in the same manner, or they can have a "ballasted" mounting structure. A "ballasted" mounting system makes no penetrations through the roof surface, thus protecting the integrity of the surface. The ballasted system relies on the weight of the solar panels and ballasting materials (often concrete block) to secure the solar rack to the roof. Very large solar arrays (greater than 15KW) can be "self ballasted." This situation relies on the mass of the solar panels and the racking structure alone to secure the system. Standing seam roofs also have a special mounting system that requires NO penetrations and secures directly to the standing seams.

We use any method of mounting your solar panels that best suites your situation. Contact us to learn more about how we can help you with your project or request a quote.
